It's true that we want to avoid core exercises such as crunches, planks, sit-ups or anything that causes doming of the stomach. These exercises can cause diastasis recti leading to "Mummy Tummy". However, there are different layers of the core and we do want to keep the transverse abdominus and pelvic floor strong.
